# Hao Wei Tu 杜浩瑋

> Communication designer, design researcher, and PhD candidate based in Melbourne. The first designer from Taiwan and East Asia to win The One Club Young Ones Portfolio Award (2022).

Hao Wei Tu (Chinese: 杜浩瑋; also known as Howard Tu, Tu Hao-Wei) is a Taiwanese communication designer and researcher currently based in Melbourne, Australia. He is a PhD candidate at Swinburne University of Technology in partnership with Design Factory Melbourne and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO), where his research explores scientific visual communication and the role of generative artificial intelligence in design practice.

He holds a Master of Design and Bachelor of Design from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech / NTUST), Taipei. He works as a Senior Graphic Designer at D&D Creative, Melbourne.
